HISTAGRA and Mazarelos bring ‘En loita’ to the Faculty of History with a debate on oral history and the student movement

HISTAGRA and Mazarelos bring the documentary *En Loita* to the Faculty of History, followed by a discussion on oral history and the student movement

HISTAGRA and Mazarelos are organising the premiere screening of the documentary En Loita, followed by a debate entitled “Who tells recent history? Women, memory and the student struggle”, on Wednesday 13 May at 7.00 pm in Lecture Theatre 8 of the Faculty of Geography and History at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

The screening of the documentary will take place on Wednesday 13 May at 7.00 pm and will be followed by a discussion with historians María Fernández Blanco (HISTAGRA-CISPAC GROUP) and Raquel Fernández Reguera on the value of women’s memories and experiences as a source for historical research.

The event invites reflection on oral history, the transmission of recent history, and the role of women in student and associative movements during the late Franco era and the early years of democracy. Following the screening of En Loita, the event will open a space for discussion on oral history as a tool and on the place of women’s experiences within the Galician student movement.

The discussion will feature the historians María Fernández Blanco (HISTAGRA-CISPAC), author of *Transición en femenino: de las organizaciones de la dictadura franquista al feminismo antifranquista y democrático (1960–1989)*; and Raquel Fernández Reguera, author of *El movimiento feminista organizado en Galicia durante la transición (1975–1983)*. The session will be introduced by David Miguel Rodríguez Martínez, historian and director of the En Loita project.
