Laura Martínez Panizo, (Ponferrada, El Bierzo, 1990). Graduate in History and Master in Contemporary History at the University of Santiago de Compostela (2016); Collaborator of the INSTITUTO DE ESTUDIOS BERCIANOS since 2015; Advisor of the PMNI group (Patrimonio Minero del Noroeste Ibérico. Industrial and Archaeological), integrated in the UNED's CHAIR OF SUSTAINABLE TERRITORIES AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT; Involved since 2014 in the search, location and exhumation of people who disappeared as a result of the Spanish Civil War and Dictatorship with different entities; Since 2018, part of the technical team of SPUTNIK LABREGO, a project focused on the resilience and resistance of peasant societies in historical moments of great transformations, from where outstanding studies have been carried out on contexts of the anti-Francoist guerrilla and environments associated with wolfram exploitations in the mountains of Casaio (Ourense); Doctoral thesis in progress on mining contexts associated with coal mining in northwest Spain (USC); In 2023-2024 she was awarded a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, within the ROMA programme: Artistic and research residencies for Spaniards, promoted by AECID; She is currently working as a Predoctoral Researcher at GRUPO HISTAGRA-CISPAC (USC) collaborating in the elaboration of the state census of victims of the Civil War and Franco's dictatorship, promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory.
