Ana Cabana Iglesia (Castro de Rei, Lugo) is Associate Professor in the Department of History. PhD in History from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Extraordinary Doctorate Award, 2006). Member of the Inter-University Research Centre for Cultural Atlantic Landscapes (CISPAC), co-director of the Juana de Vega Chair and member of the Society for the Study of Agrarian History (SEHA).

She has spent time at various research centres such as the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the Cañada Blanch Centre for Contemporary Spanish Studies (London School of Economics and Political Science), the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville). She has been a visiting professor at foreign centres such as Middlebury College (Vermont) and Hoffstra University (New York).

Her main lines of research are the study of social attitudes during the Franco dictatorship, the analysis of rural conflict during the Franco regime and the transition to democracy, and the history of women and gender in relation to 20th century rural society.
