Jose María Pellón Gil (Madrid, 1983) holds a degree in History from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2007), the same centre where he obtained a Master's degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education, specialising in Contemporary History (2011). In 2022, he obtained another Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Lleida.

He is currently working in China as a Spanish teacher and is studying for a PhD in Contemporary History at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He has also obtained the IELTS (English) and HSK (Chinese) language qualifications. She is a member of CIOL (Chartered Institute of Linguists) since 2023.

Her doctoral research, under the direction of Antonio Miguez Macho (USC), studies the politics of memory in regimes of political transition in Asia (China and Cambodia), comparing them with the case of Spain.
