Marco Antonio Álvarez Sánchez (Lugo, 1997) has a degree in Cultural Sciences and Cultural Dissemination from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2022), and a postgraduate degree in the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Contemporary History from the same university (2023). He is currently studying for a PhD in Contemporary History, also at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

His doctoral research, under the direction of Miguel Cabo Villaverde (USC) and Rafael Vallejo Posada (UVigo), studies the role of the monetarisation of economies in capitalist frontiers through the study of indebtedness, credit and social change in rural Galicia between 1845 and 1936.
