Andrea Rivas Fiel (A Coruña, 1996), BA in History (2018) and MA an Interuniversity Master's in Contemporary History (2020) from the University of Santiago de Compostela, did a one year stay at the Univeristy of Bologna (2016-2017) at the Erasmus+ Program. It was financed by the Chair Juana de Vega to work on her Master's Final Thesis, Country workers, sea workers. A gender approach to contemporary rural Galicia (1880-1940).
She is currently a pre-doctoral researcher with the USC Contemporary History PhD Program and pre-doctoral contract holder of the Xunta de Galicia.
Her study areas are: social, gender and feminism history, studying the dynamics of mobility, sociability, work and care with and between the genders in contemporary rural Galicia. The research tesis aims to expand and develop the work carried out in her Master's Final Thesis on relations among women, social class and rural work at the time of introduction and development of industrial capitalism and the way historiography has approached these issues.
She's also a contributor to Mazarelos Magazine.
