Francisco J. Leira Castiñeira (A Coruña, 1987) is a postdoctoral fellow from the Xunta de Galicia at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is a doctor in History from the University of Santiago de Compostela, an interuniversity master's degree in Contemporary History from the same university and a master's degree in Documentary Sciences in the digital environment from the University of Coruña. He obtained the Juana de Vega Research Awards (Juana de Vega Foundation in 2012), Miguel Artola (AHC and CEPC of the Ministry of the Presidency, in 2019); and second prize to George Watt from ALBA in New York (2012) and Javier Tussell (AHP, 2021). Author gives social consolidation do Franco. The influence of war on soldiers of Franco (Santiago, USC, 2014), Soldiers of Franco. Forced recruitment, war experience and military demobilization (Madrid, Século XXI, 2020). Editor, along with Anxo Alcalde and Foster Chamberlin of The Crucible of Francoism (Sussex-Chicago, Sussex Academic Press, 2021).
