Web renovation nomesevoces.net

HISTAGRA renews the website https://www.nomesevoces.net/

The HISTAGRA Research Group, responsible for content and maintenance of the nomesevoces.net website, presents the new page, updated in content and with new proposals, where the section dedicated to the Democratic Memory Plan 2021-2024 stands out.

Among the services it continues to offer is the website of victims of the Civil War, a pioneer in Galicia and Spain in the treatment and enhancement of information relating to those persecuted by Franco's violence: http://vitimas.nomesevoces.net/.

In the section relating to the cartography of violence, the list of burials produced by Franco's violence in Galicia is shown, as well as complete information on those graves that were exhumed thanks to the Democratic Memory Plan 2021-2024. Nomes e Voces works on the places of the violence of the 1936 coup, the rearguard and the war in Galicia. It is about "cunetas" (ditches), cemeteries and even the mountains, where the victims were killed or were taken away in multiple and heterogeneous ways: https://www.nomesevoces.net/lugares.

The Nomes e Voces project was carried out by a research group made up of leading specialists in the "violence of 1936" in Galicia, coordinated by Lourenzo Fernández Prieto, Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), who worked mainly along three lines: The constitution of a collection of recordings on the oral memory of the war; the elaboration of a nominal relation of the victims and the determination of a cartography of the "repression". Although the project is now closed, most of its results are still in force and it has produced key tools for research into the violence of 1936, the war, the post-war period, the dictatorship and even the Resistance.
