HISTAGRA is present in the Cycle Diàlegs. Franco's repression of Catalonia. A shared approach

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 12, at the delegation of the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Madrid, the intervention of the Professor of Contemporary History and IP of HISTAGRA Lourenzo Fernández Prieto will take place in the cycle, Diàlegs. Franco's repression of Catalonia. A shared approach, organized by the delegation of the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Madrid, tries to approach the multiple dimension of repression during the Franco dictatorship as a system of social control and liquidation of dissidence and opposition.

Session 3 is dedicated to exile, under the title: Galicia and Catalonia, different paths to exile, and Fernández Prieto will share a table with the doctor in art history, Gemma Domènech.

About the session:

Exile also took the form of passive repression, by exclusion. The estrangement, the distance from the country, the separation and breakup of families, the paths of the diaspora pointed out the cruelty of the punishment that the long path of exile meant. The paths of exile, the ways to escape the direct action of Franco's repression, took various forms. This dialogue tries to point out similarities and differences between the exile by continental route from Catalonia to France and the maritime exiles that were rehearsed in Galicia before the immediacy of the favorable outcome for the rebels of the July 1936 coup d'état.

The cycle is coordinated and moderated by Joaquim Nadal i Farreras
