Professor and specialist in agrarian history Josep Pujol Andreu dies 

 

Josep Pujol Andreu, professor at the UAB Department of Economics and Economic History, passed away last October 2019

 

His work, from his doctoral thesis read in 1988 "The transformations of the Catalan agricultural sector between the end of the century crisis and the civil war" opened the way to a fruitful academic life, becoming a professor of History and Economic Institutions in 1995. The Spanish Association of History Economics recognized these merits with the 2019 

 

Trajectory Award for the teaching and research career. He assumed various responsibilities in institutions and journals in the field of knowledge such as the Spanish Association of Economic History and the Spanish Society of Agrarian History 

 

A specific mention deserves his research profile, of which his contributions in the field of contemporary agrarian history, food and the living standards of the population.
