Ciencia á Feria, the intergenerational citizen science proposal of the teaching innovation group XuvenCiencia of the Lugo Campus of the USC, will have a second delivery for the academic year 2024-2025 thanks to being selected in the call for the promotion of scientific culture of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities directed by Ana Cabana Iglesia, a member of HISTAGRA.
 

Ciencia á Feria is an intergenerational and community-based project for the informal dissemination of science that takes advantage of structures strongly rooted in rural areas: schools, town councils, associations and neighbourhood groups and, of course, fairs, which function as secular spaces for economic activity, but which also play a crucial role in sociability, meetings and information exchange. Fairs and markets are held periodically on dates that are known to all the inhabitants of the area and which act as an attraction in their own right; they have their origins in farming society, but remain relevant in the contemporary world.
