The rural world: from liberalism to 1939

This line of research aims to study the rural world between the crisis of the old regime and the civil war from multiple perspectives, with socio-political evolution as a common denominator and linking the Galician, Spanish and European spheres with a constant comparative effort. Politics is analyzed but not only from the classical conception (electoral processes, parties ...) but from the point of view of the political socialization of the rural population and the new cultural history, to study the policies managed in different times, starting from a multidirectional conception and constant formal and informal negotiation between the actors. In the social sphere, aspects such as the impact of emigration, the interplay of identity frames of reference (from the village to the state), daily conflict and delinquency, violence, the interplay of mutual influences of traditional forms and news of cultural diffusion and leisure, religious conceptions, education and a long etcetera. A unique role is reserved for the different associative modalities and the forms of construction of civil society in the contemporary rural world and very especially to the hidden role of women in the home, production, the market and social and political mobilization. Matters barely focused so far in historiography.
