HISTAGRA at SEHA International Congress 2023

The XVIII Agrarian History Congress will be held in Coimbra from 6 to 8 September, and this time it will focus on food sovereignty and production and consumption.

Food sovereignty is a crucial issue that crosses epochs and geographies. In recent years, as various problems have further threatened human communities, the issue has risen to the top of the agenda of global debates. Scientific knowledge has contributed to find adequate solutions to solve new problems. The programme of the IV International Rural RePort & SEHA Congress on Food Sovereignty. Sovereignty. Long-term production and supply dynamics offers hints on how the sciences that study food sovereignty can be used to solve new problems.

The organisation of this conference takes place at a time when globalised threats. The Organising Committee started its work under the constraints of the Covid-19 pandemic, which dissipated during 2022 and 2023. As a result, there is a return to face-to-face discussions, one of the objectives of this congress. The scientific programme includes plenary and parallel sessions, an exhibition, several book presentations and four study visits.
