Presentation of the results of the Vilacoba-Lousame Trench

Presentation of the results of the Vilacoba-Lousame mass grave within the Galician Democratic Memory Plan 2021-2024
Tomorrow Thursday at 12:30 the results will be presented to relatives and authorities regarding the work carried out in the mass grave in the Vilacoba-Lousame cemetery in 2022.
On this occasion, the search was for Manuel García Hermo, murdered on 30 August 1936.
Previous investigations, carried out by the research group Histagra, on the victims and the space indicated, at first, the possibility of finding five people buried: Manuel García Hermo, Perfecto Félix Vilas Romero, his brother, Antonio, María Josefa Becerra Laíño and Avelino Méndez Suárez. All of them were killed as a result of "paseos" at different times in the rearguard: at the end of August 1936, at the end of February 1938 and towards the end of the war.
The event will take place in the town hall of Ribeira at 12: 30 in the morning and will be attended by the researchers of the team, Antonio Miguez Macho (PhD in Contemporary History and Professor at the USC), Conchi López (PhD in Contemporary History and documentalist of the team), Víctor Vicente (archaeologist of Tempos Arqueólogos and responsible for the field work), Fernando Serrulla (Forensic Doctor of IMELGA and responsible for the anthropological-forensic studies) and Ana Miranda (researcher of the Institute of Legal Medicine Luis Concheiro of the USC).
We will be accompanied by Manuel's relatives, members of the Barbanza Memory Commission and the mayor of Ribeira Manuel Santos Ruiz and the mayoress of Lousame Teresa Villaverde.
