On November 29th at 7:30 p.m. we will present the book 1936. Un nuevo relato at La Corrala Cultural Center (C/ Carlos Arniches, 3-5. Madrid).

The event will be attended by a representation of the authors: Dolores Vilavedra Fernández, Lourenzo Fernández Prieto, Antonio Miguez Macho and Jesús Izquierdo Martin. In addition, we will have the special intervention of the State Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz.

About the book:

In this book we want to define the bases to build a new story because the available one, the dominant one, does not convince us: it went from victory to reconciliation, it found the victims but it is still not able to look at the executioners nor to place the superiority of democracy against the dictatorship. How to face in the public conscience of the present the period of war and dictatorship is a major challenge that calls into question the historical and political identity of the current Kingdom of Spain. Despite the passage of time, forty plus forty years, a civil war story built on the victory and defeat of its protagonists continues to dominate.
