On May 14, the participatory strategy Eo Alimenta starts in Ribadeo

After working on it for some time, we announce that on May 14 the first public session for the implementation of the Eo Alimenta Strategy will take place in the plenary hall of the Ribadeo Council. The food strategy of Río Eo (Ribadeo, Trabada, Barreiros, A Pontenova, San Tirso de Abres, Vegadeo, Castropol, Taramundi and Tapia de Casariego) is an invitation to think among all of us how we can achieve a healthier, fairer and more sustainable. It is an open process in which, through different meetings, a plan will be drawn up with the corresponding actions that help achieve a more sustainable territorial food system. In the first public session the process will be explained, as well as the aspiration to create a working group that will co-decide the food strategy in the coming months.

The Participatory-Action-Research methodology will be followed to achieve the greatest possible participation of all those interested in a more sustainable diet. This public day will take place in two hours and with it the main problems of the local food sector will be addressed together, and thus be able to give answers to it in subsequent sessions.

Eo's Participatory Food Strategy is promoted by the HISTAGRA Group, together with the network of partners of the Ribadeo Council, the Labrego Galego Union, the Edes-Finca El Cabillón Foundation, the GDR Oscos Eo, the GDR Terras de Miranda and the GALABRA Group of the USC and also has the co-financing of the prestigious Franco-Spanish entity, the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation. The website www.eoalimenta.org recogerá todos los pasos que se están dando en esta pionera estrategia alimentaria.
