Ismael Saz Campos is Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Valencia, specializing in Falangism and the Franco dictatorship. He conceptualized the Franco regime as a "fascistized dictatorship". His research work focuses on unraveling the nature and internal dynamics of the Franco regime in addition to working the environment of the European extreme right of the 20s, 30s and 40s. Among his works include: Spain Against Spain (2013); From Francoism to democracy: 1936-2013 (Coord., 2015); Left and right before the mirror: political cultures in conflict (ed., 2016)
