PANEL DISCUSSION: The industrialisation of agriculture in Spain: geopolitics, planning and socio-environmental costs

HISTAGRA, in collaboration with CISPAC, is organising a panel discussion: The industrialisation of agriculture in Spain: geopolitics, planning and socio-environmental costs

 

Next Wednesday, 22 April at 12 noon at CISPAC, the round table discussion ‘The industrialisation of agriculture in Spain: geopolitics, planning and socio-environmental costs’ will take place, featuring ROSA Mª PARDO SANZ (UNED), CARLOS DE FRANCISCO MARTIÑÁN (USC) and DAVID SOTO (USC). MODERATOR: DANIEL LANERO (USC).

 

The following day, Thursday 23rd at 1 pm, Rosa Mª Pardo Sanz will give a lecture entitled: ‘The United States and Franco’s Spain during the Cold War: between Americanisation and anti-Americanism’. It will take place in Lecture Theatre 14 of the Faculty of Geography and History


These activities form part of the HISTAGRA 2025–2026 Seminar Series organised by the HISTAGRA Group.

 

Rosa Mª Pardo Sanz holds a PhD from the UNED, having written her thesis on ‘Latin America in Spanish foreign policy, 1939–1945’. She is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Contemporary History at the UNED

 

David Soto Fernández has held a PhD in History from the USC since 2003. He is currently a tenured lecturer in the Department of History at the USC. He is a member of the HISTAGRA Research Group and of CISPAC.

 

Carlos de Francisco Mantiñán holds a PhD in Economics from the USC, awarded in 2025. He is currently a lecturer at the USC and a member of the GESPIC Research Group.

 

Daniel Lanero Táboas holds a PhD in Contemporary History from the USC. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at the USC and a researcher with the HISTAGRA Group and CISPAC.
