The researcher collaborator of HISTAGRA Diego Conde Gómez, doctor in Veterinary Medicine and researcher in Veterinary History, took possession last January 23rd of the chair nº 23 of national corresponding academic of the Academy of Veterinary Sciences of Galicia in a ceremony held in the Noble Hall of the Pazo de Fonseca in Santiago de Compostela with the speech ‘Eppur sí muove. New contributions to the History of the Veterinary School of Santiago de Compostela (1882-1924)’ which had the reply of the full member Dr. Alberto Portela, who highlighted the relevance of the work of Conde Gómez in the recovery of the veterinary historical heritage of the Galician community.
Diego Conde Gómez (Ourense, 1977) holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela since 2013, with a thesis on the role of Juan Rof Codina in veterinary medicine and livestock improvement in contemporary Galicia, with which he obtained the qualification of Outstanding Cum Laude. He is a member of the Research Group on Agrarian History and Politics of the Rural World (HISTAGRA) and Corresponding Academician of the Royal Academy of Veterinary Sciences of Spain since 2018.
