Carin Martiin

Agronomist, PhD in Agrarian History and Docent in Economic History. Associate professor and Head of Division of Agrarian History and work with research and teaching.

Areas of interest
20th c. agricultural politics, farming technologies, methods of production and use of resources in agriculture in Sweden and internationally. Dairy cattle and dairy production.
Key words: Agrarian and rural history; twentieth century agricultural politics, global agriculture and food supply, farm animal history, dairy production.

Editor, together with Paul Brassley (Exeter) and Juan Pan-Montojo (Madrid) of the book Agriculture in Capitalist Europe, 1945-1960: From Food Shortages to Food Surpluses (Ashgate).
Research project: The Electrification of Rural Sweden, financed by The Fire Insurance Agency Foundation.
Smaller project on the expanded use of herbicides in Swedish farming in the 1950s, financed by August Dahl’s fund, KLSA.
Smaller project on rural electrification and its impact on rural life, financed by Magn. Bergvalls fund, SEB.
